Your Invitation! Retail Crime – Cross Party Group on Independent Convenience Stores - 4th June
Please join us for the next meeting of our Cross-Party Group for Independent Convenience Stores. It will be held in the Scottish Parliament, Committee Room 2 at 6pm on Tuesday 4th June.
We have three industry expert speakers confirmed. As a critical issue facing the sector, each speaker will be looking at sub-sections within the important topic of retail crime. The speakers are:
Douglas Meikle, The Scottish Whiskey Association – Douglas will provide an update on the ‘It’ll Cost You’ campaign. This campaign helps to raise awareness that buying alcohol on behalf of someone under the age of 18 is a criminal offence and helps communities and retailers stop it.
Ron McNaughton, Food Standards Scotland – Ron will provide his expertise on the issue and impact of food crime in Scotland.
Natalie Lightfoot, Independent Retailer – From her own experience, Natalie will discuss store security once the store has closed, as well as touching on shop theft, abuse, and threatening behaviour within stores.
The presentations will be followed by a Q&A, in which you can put your questions to our speakers.
We would be grateful for your attendance in what should be an interesting discussion. Please email aidans@sgfscot.co.uk if interested.
