Speakers confirmed: Cross Party Group on Independent Convenience Stores - UK Vaping Regulation: Compliance & Illicit Trade. 6pm, 12th Nov.

You are invited to the next meeting of SGF's Cross Party Group on Independent Convenience Stores, scheduled for 12th November at 6pm, in Committee Room 3 at the Scottish Parliament.

The meeting will focus on UK Vaping Regulation: Compliance & Illicit Trade. With Scotland set to ban disposable vapes from June 2025, and additional measures expected in the forthcoming UK-wide Tobacco and Vapes Bill, this is a critical and timely topic for our members.

Speakers on the topic will include:

  • David MacKenzie, Society of Chief Officers of Trading Standards in Scotland (SCOTSS) – David will discuss enforcement and illicit trade.

  • Ross Cowie, Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) – Ross will discuss compliance to vape regulations.

  • Shamly Sud, Independent retailer and Co-Founder of Racetrack Pitstop – Shamly will provide a retailer’s perspective of vape trading in the convenience sector.

  • Industry expert speaking on vape legislation.

Following the presentations, there will be an opportunity for a Q&A session with our speakers and MSPs present.

We would greatly value your participation in what promises to be an interesting discussion. We will gather in the Parliament visitor reception before proceeding to the event room.

Please confirm your attendance, or that of a colleague, by emailing aidans@sgfscot.co.uk.
