SNP end power-sharing deal with Scottish Greens

The power-sharing deal between the SNP and Greens in Scotland has ended. First Minister Humza Yousef says he terminated the agreement, and the SNP will now return to minority Government.

The power-sharing deal involving the SNP and the Greens was established in August 2021 when Nicola Sturgeon was first minister.

On the 25th April, the First Minister held a Press Conference in which he discussed the ending of the agreement and mapped out his plans for government in the future.

Mr Yousaf met Patrick Harvie and Lorna Slater, the First Minister informed them formally of the end of the Bute House Agreement, and their tenure as Ministers, with immediate effect.
