Survey on extension to non-domestic rates proposal-lodging deadline

In the 'New Deal for Business Group Report on progress and recommendations', Recommendation 4 of the Non-Domestic Rates (NDR) sub-group states that “some business members of the group requested that Scottish Government give urgent consideration to extending the timetable for submitting a proposal challenging a valuation from 31 July to 30 September 2023”. Following consideration, the Scottish Government announced on 17 July 2023 that it would extend the proposal-lodging deadline to 31 August 2023. This is provided for in the Valuation (Proposals Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 2022, as amended.

In the New Deal for Business Implementation Plan, the Scottish Government committed to doing a survey of this change and it now invite your views.

The survey can be accessed at:  https://forms.office.com/e/X2VqdH2MGJ

This survey will close on 23 July 2024.

Please contact anouk.berthier@gov.scot if you have any questions about this survey, or if you would like to respond but are not able to do so before the deadline.
