Speakers announced for HFSS Cross Party Group

We now have all four speakers confirmed for our Cross Party Group on Restricting promotions of food and drink high in fat, sugar or salt.

The confirmed speakers are:

  1. Cheryl McNulty, Restricting Promotions Team Leader, Diet and Healthy Weight Unit, Scottish Government

  2. Kathryn Neil, SGF Healthy Living Programme Director

  3. Dean Duke, Public Affairs Senior Manager, Mars Wrigley

  4. Umar Majid, Independent Retailer

Location: The Scottish Parliament, Committee Room 3

Date and time: Tuesday 26th September, 6pm

About this event: The CPG informs MSPs of the issues and challenges facing independent convenience stores and the group also brings together the key stakeholders in the independent convenience store sector: retailers, wholesalers, producers, manufacturers, and trade associations as well as wider stakeholders.

While we do not have the full picture of what the policy will look like, The Scottish Government is considering restricting promotions of food and drink high in fat, sugar or salt. This Autumn, Ministers will take the next steps on proposing regulations. This is an important topic for our membership to discuss and find out more.

Please email aidans@sgfscot.co.uk to confirm your attendance if you have not done so already.
