Retail Industry Leadership Group - Fair Work Survey - Seeking Responses by 5 March 2025

The Scottish Government’s retail sector fair work group has been working to create a fair work resource/advice for employers of all sizes in the retail sector. To help inform its development the group, the government is asking sector representatives to complete a Fair Work survey.

The Retail Industry Leadership Group (of which SGF is a member), is co-chaired by Tom Arthur, Minister for Employment and Investment, and Lucy Brown, Central Operations Director, John Lewis Partnership, are working in partnership with Scottish Government Retail officials to produce a Fair Work resource: ‘Growing Fair Work in Retail’. This will be a free resource to showcase best practice, good examples, and case studies from across the sector.

The group is asking retailers to complete a short Fair Work survey. The results from this survey will be key in ensuring the Fair Work resource has current information on the sector and accurately conveys the way Fair Work is being taken forward by businesses.

The survey can be found at the following link:

There is a question regarding Fair Work case studies – if your organisation has case studies they would be comfortable sharing for potential inclusion in the completed resource, there is an opportunity to provide your contact details, to allow ILG secretariat to get in touch and gather these.

The survey will close for responses at 5pm on Wednesday 5 March 2025.
