Prime Minister outlines the UK Government’s five key priorities for 2023

On 4th January 2023 the Prime Minister outlined his five key priorities for the UK in 2023, listed below. The full statement is available to read here

  • Halve inflation this year to ease the cost of living and give people financial security.

  • Grow the economy in order to create better-paid jobs and opportunities across the country.

  • Decrease National Debt in order to secure the future of public services.

  • By March, NHS waiting lists will fall and people will get the care they need more quickly. (England only, health is a devolved matter for the Scottish Government)

  • Pass new laws to stop small boats, making sure that if you come to this country illegally, you are detained and swiftly removed.
