Today (1st February) the National Lottery changed operator for the first time in 30 years. Allwyn would like to share the following information with you.

Allwyn are pleased to confirm that National Lottery terminals are now operational following a software download last night. If any of your members stores are experiencing any issues signing on to their terminal this morning, we would advise them to take the following actions:

  • Switch the terminal off at the mains.

  • Switch the terminal back on at the mains and wait for it to load.

  • If this doesn’t work, please advise stores to call the free* Retailer Hotline on 0800 8 40 50 60 to log the terminal issue.

Key reminders for stores on the first day of the Fourth National Lottery Licence:

  • Each store’s activated and unactivated Scratchcard stock will automatically transfer with their Retailer ID into the Fourth Licence, meaning this stock will not be auto-settled on 1 February 2024. Settlements will take place as per the current process, which is 30 days after activation or when 60% of low-tier prizes have been paid out (whichever is sooner).

  • Ensure dispensers are fully stocked to help maximise your sales.

From 1st February 2024, Post Office branches will no longer be able to pay National Lottery prizes over £500. Here’s a reminder about the different prize levels and how winners can claim:

Please find attached the Allwyn Press Release for the start of the Fourth National Lottery Licence. Thank you for your continued support and the role you and your members play in raising £30 million every week for Good Causes across the UK.
