High Risk Food and Feed of Non-Animal Origin (HRFNAO) - Regulation 2019/1793 Update

Food Standards Scotland (FSS) and the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and have undertaken a science and evidence-based review of the imported food and feed commodities contained within the Annexes to Regulation 2019/1793 and write to inform you that has now been published for England, Wales and Scotland. Amendments to Regulation 2019/1793 will come into force 7 March 2024, which seeks to control high-risk food and food not of animal origin (HRFNAO) imported into Great Britain. The Regulation has been amended to reflect the changes to hazards affecting imported food to ensure the safety of consumers.
