Gov.uk Page Updates: CE Recognition
On 1 October 2024, legislation came into force to continue recognition of EU requirements, including the CE marking for a range of products being placed on the GB market. CE marking is a symbol that indicates that a product has been assessed by the manufacturer and deemed to meet EU safety, health and environmental protection requirements. This legislation is called The Product Safety and Metrology Regulation (Amendment) 2024 and applies to 21 regulations.
To provide industry with further clarity on how to make use of this approach, The Department for Business and Trade have provided new guidance that lays out what businesses can do to place their products on the GB market.
