First minister resignation speech – 15th February

On Wednesday 15th February, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced her intention to resign as First Minister for Scotland. You can read the FM’s full speech here.

The SNP’s national executive committee met on Thursday to discuss the timing for a leadership contest. Following the election of a new leader of the SNP, the Scottish Parliament will vote to elect the new First Minister.
