First Minister John Swinney appoints new cabinet
On the 8th of May John Swinney MSP was officially sworn in as Scotland’s seventh First Minister. He has subsequently appointed a new Ministerial Cabinet.
Important appointments for the convenience sector include:
Kate Forbes MSP has been appointed deputy First Minister. She will also take on the Economy portfolio and responsibility for Gaelic.
Shona Robison MSP remains in Cabinet with responsibility for Finance and Local Government.
Angela Constance MSP remains Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs.
Richard Lochhead MSP remains as the Minister for Business.
Ivan McKee MSP has been appointed Minister for Public Finance.
Siobhan Brown MSP remains Minister for Victims and Community Safety.
Tom Arthur MSP appointed as Minister for Employment and Investment.
Christina McKelvie MSP remains Minister for Drugs and Alcohol Policy.
